WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE KAPITI COAST?
The Ōtaki River.. I enjoy having BBQs down there… I love the relaxed mix and vibe of this place.”
WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU?
“I like brewing smooth ale beer… Although the last one that I brewed didn’t work out too well… It tasted like vegemite! Some flavours were definitely off! I also like to do a lot of things by myself like building around the house”

“I like working with people that are quite vulnerable, really breaking down the barriers to meet their needs… Some people really struggle. And it’s fulfilling work in contributing to positive outcomes in their lives.”

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE KAPITI COAST?
“The beach! It’s my soul place. As a kid growing up here it was everything, our happy place. Raumati Beach was where I grew up. Looking over to Kapiti Island is so beautiful, I love it!” My favorite place to go and eat is the waterfront.
WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU?
“I’m a real crafter.. I love to quilt, knit, sew and create... Since a child I learnt from my mum, and I love it! I also garden a lot. The garden has been a special place for me when times get tough. It’s really special to me. It’s my haven. And I’m quite proud of what I’ve achieved. I’m also going to be a grandmother for the first time this year!!”
REFLECTIONS ON THE MAHI YOU DO AT MANAAKI KAPITI…
“I love being able to help people in the Kapiti community… I think it’s a really special job we’re doing.. And being able to give care and give back to our people. I love people! “I feel quite privileged to be here and in this team… working in Kapiti
